Going Home
Going Home
“I’m going home”. Those words I’ve loved.
I thank you, Lord, you gave me love
of family, of friends, who cared,
who’ve made my life and all I’ve shared.
Like Nazareth, our homes are blessed
when you are there in love and trust.
“I’m going home”. Since I was small
my heart has echoed to that call.
I’m going home. How sweet the thought
from places far, where life I’d sought,
that I would see, just for a while,
the ones I loved, their tears and smiles.
So was it, Lord, in Galilee
you must have longed your own to see.
In going home we touch the years
that we have shared in loving prayers.
I’m coming home, to you, my Lord,
my life complete; you gave your word
that I would share with those I loved
your heavenly joy and peace and love.
You said farewell, and knew the pain
of longing to be home again.
I’m coming home, to be with you
and all, in love eternal, true.
